Understanding Combined Condition Prevalence

Combined condition prevalence represents the sum of the individual condition-level prevalence estimates included within a research category. Because individuals may experience multiple conditions, these combined estimates should not be interpreted as counts of unique people.

All figures are identified as CYNAERA modeled research estimates rather than directly observed surveillance counts. Estimates may vary by reference year, population definition, available evidence, and modeling assumptions. Detailed methods, sources, and condition-specific information are provided in the corresponding research publications.

About the US-CCUC™ Methodology

The U.S. Chronic Condition Undercount Correction (US-CCUC™) methodology is a proprietary research framework developed by CYNAERA to investigate potential differences between conventionally reported disease prevalence and modeled population burden. The framework examines factors relevant to diagnostic recognition and population representation, including delayed diagnosis, potential misclassification, incomplete surveillance coverage, and demographic variation. The research is intended to support epidemiological investigation, health policy development, clinical research planning, and improved understanding of chronic condition prevalence. Individual estimates should be evaluated in relation to their supporting evidence, assumptions, and uncertainty.
